Living Lab Plant & Marine Guides

Created in collaboration with The W̱SÁNEĆ School Board, School District #61 Indigenous Education Department, Songhees Nation, PEPÁḴEṈ HÁUTW̱, the University of Victoria, and many other contributors.

These guides can be used as a resource for teaching and learning about plant and marine life in the Coast Salish area and include the English, Senćoŧen, Lekwungen (Lək̓ ʷiʔnəŋ), and Scientific Names for each organism.

SD61 Indigenous Education Department has a small collection of Lekwungen Plants under their Cultural Support & Resources.
Camosun College has a Native Plant section where you can learn to identify the plants in our Indigenous Plant Garden and discover their uses. Names are listed in SENĆOŦEN, English, and Latin.
