Songhees Academic Youth Leadership (SAYL) was formed in the Fall of 2012 within the Songhees Nation Education department. SAYL was created to encourage our young members to strive more for the educational endeavours. Songhees Nation Education got together to choose members of each family group to represent Songhees Nation youth. SAYL are asked to put in 15-20 hours of volunteer work into their communities. SAYL members plan activities and events; promote health and wellness through leadership development; and uphold our Songhees youth and Elder’s. SAYL is governed by our Mandate: run by youth for youth to promote academic leadership.
